		 AFPMEET AMSTERDAM 2.0 / NETHERLANDS 10.0
		       "The Return of the Pancakes"
			  Saturday 21 March 1998
	       --------------------------------------------

Afpers Colette Reap and Alan Bellingham, collectively a.k.a. The
Bellinghpeople, are visiting the Netherlands later this month. In honour of
this event an afpmeet will be held in Amsterdam on the evening of Saturday
the 21st of March.

MEETING POINT: We will convene at the Cafe Americain, which is part of the
Hotel Americain, which is located right next to the Leidseplein, which is a
rather famous square smack dab in the very heart of Amsterdam. You can't
miss it. For a map (lousy, but the only one I could find) see:
<http://www.heineken.nl/greatplaces/great_americain.html>

TIME SCHEDULE: I will make sure I am at the Americain from 17:30 p.m.
onwards. We'll stay there until 19:00-ish, and then be off to the
Prinsengracht for dinner at the Pancake Bakery. After that, we head for the
bars (Amsterdam has several Irish pubs, so Guinness *will* be an option
:-)).

CRASH SPACE: Crash space will be available -- sort of. Patrick Dersjant has
gracefully offered the use of his spacious living room floor to afpersons
in need of sleeping space. The catch is that Patrick lives near Leiden,
which means a thirty-minute (night)train-ride will be necessary before
actual crashing can commence.

PRE-MEET: I was hoping that those of us not busy flying in from the UK
earlier that afternoon might be interested in holding a 'pre-meet', where
we find something fun & interesting to do around Amsterdam (shouldn't be
too difficult...:-)) before the meet proper begins. Suggested starting
time: 13:30 p.m, again convening at the Cafe Americain.

If you are going to attend this afpmeet, please reply to this message as
soon as possible, and confirm (even if you already did so after the first
announcement) -- I want to make restaurant reservations for as accurate a
number of people as possible.

Crash space offers, mobile telephone-numbers (for reachability purposes),
and suggestions for good watering holes and/or things to do at the pre-meet
are also more than welcome -- it is a bit awkward organising a meet in a
city you hardly ever set foot in yourself, so I will need all the help I
can get.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st,

- --
