Some discussion as to which day is better has led me to going for the Saturday. Where: The Wheatsheaf in central Oxford When: 19:30ish, Saturday 19th July Why: Why not All welcome, come one, come all. Some at least will be in Pratchett related T-shirts Directions follow (thanks to Kat 'Kitten' Knight and Matt 'Tabbycat'): - ---------------8<------------------- DIRECTIONS TO THE WHEATSHEAF, OXFROD Written directions: Kitten Map: Tabbycat By car - ------ Find the station. This is clearly signposted, and you'll pass it anyway if you're coming in on the A420 from the west side of Oxford. There's parking opposite the station, which I think is free on a Saturday. Once you've parked and disembarked, follow the directions below. Walking from the station - ------------------------ Get onto the main road next to the station (OK, the pavement, don't be picky) and turn left. This is PARK END STREET. Keep walking, and cross over the crossroads when you reach them (this is a bit of a bugger when there's lots of traffic, but persevere). Keep on walking until you pass a car park on your left. There will be a turning to your left (WORCESTER STREET), but ignore this and carry straight on over the road. You're now on NEW ROAD. Keep walking and you'll pass a turn off to your right (CASTLE STREET) and the Westgate Shopping Centre. You're now in QUEEN STREET. It's probably best to get on the right hand side of the road at this point. Keep walking, and you'll come to a cross roads. To your left is CORNMARKET STREET, and to your right is ST ALDATES. There's also a clock tower on your left. Cross over into HIGH STREET. There are two alleyways off the right hand side. Go down the second one, which has a barrel with 'The Wheatsheaf' adorning it. Partway down the alley on your right is the pub itself, and further down is some outside seating.
