From: agnes_nitt@hotmail.com Newsgroups: alt.fan.pratchett Subject: [ANNOUNCE][F] London Galaxy Quest minimeet - Mon 1st May Date: Fri, 28 Apr 2000 21:32:44 +0100 Message-ID: <DgIkhHAsVfC5Ewe2@asphalt.demon.co.uk> Sorry for the short notice on this one... Given the success[1] of previous afp film meets [2] it has been decided to have another go with Galaxy Quest. For those of you who have missed the trailers or the recent thread on afp, Galaxy Quest is a comedy starring Alan Rickman, Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver, as actors from a Star Trek type TV show who now make their living mainly from appearing at fan conventions. The plan is to meet in the Shakespeare pub [3] on Westbourne Grove from about 5:00pm for a leisurely drink and possibly some food if the chef's working that day. We are aiming for the 7 o'clock showing at Whiteley's in Bayswater to allow for time for those coming from outside London to get home afterwards. I can't really offer crash space, but if you are very stuck let me know, and I'll see what I can do..... If there aren't a huge amount of people then I will try to book the tickets as a group in advance, so please e-mail me at GQmeet@asphalt.demon.co.uk by Sunday evening if you want me to do so. Assuming it's not booked out we can always phone for some more once we've assembled in the pub, but I don't know how likely that is. OK, in summary then: 5pm The Shakespeare, 65 Westbourne Grove for food(?), drink and wibbling 6:55pm UCI cinema Whiteleys by the ticket office I will have my mobile with me, so you think you're likely to get lost or have any other problems getting there, email me for the number. OK, back to lurkdom again... [1] OK, so there weren't many of us there, but we had fun [2] Dogma, Fantasia 2000 and Toy Story2 to name but three [3] for a local map, see www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=525642&Y=181177&arrow=Y -- AH Willis (valid reply-to, but please use GQmeet@asphalt.demon.co.uk) "...Who am I to criticise you? Just a girl that you despise...." Designer Life - Kirsty MacColl
