I hereby propose an afp day meet for then. As well as the bookfair (admission 1 ukp) [1] there will be a chance to sample the wonderful sweet shop, chocolate shop, and shop for seamstresses [2]. Those who wish (and haven't done so previously) may visit the cathedral and castle (admission fee for the latter). If the weather is kind, hopefully post book fair we will find a pleasant hostelry for an al fresco meal by the canal. My suggestion is to meet at the point where the pedestrianised High Street crosses the canal i.e. right at the bottom of the infamous hill. For those who don't know there is only one main thoroughfare in Lincoln leading via a short but steep hill to the Bailgate, castle and cathedral area. Meeting time : 11:15 - 11:30 If you intend joining us and/or need more explicit directions please e-mail so I know who to look out for. hippo (Mark Datko) [1] never fear I know the less steep routes up [2] sewing kits, material and that sort of thing, why, were you thinking of other items ? <g> - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Signed by the AFPA Moderator iQBVAwUBOzMALVEnYeztdy65AQGOUwH+NTvCD7LHCPCwNSmYM+MN0lBXLVcCsjK7 TYGdeHUq3HqDz2qHWaaPHY4zxg0yX4hWsKR8Y+WZhPvhkGfjhQG0og== =nP+/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Newsgroups: alt.fan.pratchett.announce,alt.fan.pratchett,alt.books.pratchett Reply-To: "Mark Datko" <mdatko@btinternet.com> From: "Mark Datko" <mdatko@btinternet.com> Subject: [ANNOUNCE] [F][REMINDER] Lincoln Book Fair July 14 Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2001 07:20:23 +0100 Message-ID: <994407221.afpa@squeamish.osifrage.net> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- A reminder that an afp day meet based around the Lincoln bookfair on July 14 is planned. As well as the bookfair (admission 1 ukp) there will be a chance to sample the wonderful sweet shop, chocolate shop, and shop for seamstresses . and other touristy things if people wish [1] . My suggestion is to meet at the point where the pedestrianised High Street crosses the canal i.e. right at the bottom of the infamous hill. For those who don't know there is only one main thoroughfare in Lincoln leading via a short but steep hill to the Bailgate, castle and cathedral area. Meeting time : 11:15 - 11:30 (I shall be wearing the DWcon 2002 t-shirt and probably holding a pink pig) If you intend joining us and/or need more explicit directions please e-mail so I know who to look out for. In the event of poor weather e.g. thundery rain [2] the option of viewing a popular recently released movie might be considered [3] hippo (Mark Datko) [1] I will accept reasonably requests [4] from anyone who would like some special sweets for CCDE or other future meets. Contact me via irc or email if you are interested. Obviously chocolates are a non-starter [2] PPP nothing to do with dialups or the underground in my TLA book, "profuse pluvial precipitation" [3] Well *I* haven't seen it a second time yet <g> [4] I can hardly carry umpteen large sweet jars around with me :-) - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Signed by the AFPA Moderator iQBVAwUBO0VzNlEnYeztdy65AQFqvwH5AcOxYIV8v/oMeuq7STh2SQtS0KS9p408 YhaEXpx4AVqcDxlGADMvhM+wp89qVq31FPfVx8qSPpzu9Tn3T7Kcaw== =bpj8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
