Subject: [I] The Hotel Genua filk. I warned you. Warned you I did!
Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 18:08:37 GMT
As briefly mentioned bith times I posted "Omnian Ship" here is Hotel Genua, the filk I spent all summer on. And I wonder why I failed my resits...
Hotel Genua
On a dark swampy coach road, warm haze in the air,
The vines and the creepers gettin' caught in my hair.
Up ahead in the distance, was a castle in pink,
My head grew heavy, my sight grew dimmer,
I had to stop for a drink.
There she stood in the doorway,
Like a younger Esme
And I thought this could be Hades
Or Cori Celesti
Then she lit up her wand, and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Castle Genua
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
We will make sure you're happy when you're here [1]
It's like a fairy story, so it can get gory.
Her mind is magic-twisted, she's got the mirror bends,
She' s got a lot of animals she's transformed into friends.
How they danced at the palace ball, even the human cat,
Nanny with Casanunda, the Duc with Magrat.
At the buffet Nanny Ogg is standing by the dips,
Asking a waiter why don't they do chips.
Beside her is Granny, who is starting to sway,
She can feel the building's story, she can hear it say
Welcome to the Castle Genua
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
We will make sure you're happy when you're here
It's like a fairy story, so it can get gory.
Mirrors reflecting mirrors, Lilith's power device.
But she's just a prisoner of her story's artifice
In the Ducal chamber, there are flies for a feast
As Greebo fights the coachman, as a man and a beast.
Last thing I remember I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before.
Don't try said Lady Lilith, You will never succeed,
You're going to get a happy ending, even though it's not what you need!
[1] It does rhyme if you work at it, honest.
