When we left a pub where some distinctly ropey live music was about to happen...
Still, several good things did come out of that meet. Especially the T- shirts. I invite those about to sing this filk to put BIG hair on, and affect a good ole Dixie twang.
Herewith, for your delectation, by Tammy Wynette out of Tom Lehrer:
STAND ON YOUR MAN
TTTO Stand By Your Man
Sometimes it's hard to dominate him,
Wearin' sharpened heels for just one man;
He'll bear feathers, and you'll wear leather,
Doin' things that he don't understand;
But if you love him, you'll berate him,
Then you'll whip so hard that he can't stand;
He'll grovel for you, and he'll adore you
'Cause after all he's just a man.
Stand on your man,
Give him some chains to cling to
And leather boots to come to
When nights are cold and lonely.
Stand on your man, and show the world you love him
Keep giving all the pain you can -
Stand on your man.
Stand on your man, and show the world you love him
Keep giving all the pain you can -
Stand on your maaaaaaaaaan!
