1) What is the AFP Recipe Archive?
==================================

   Once upon a time, a rodent and a piece of household
   plumbing noticed that people were posting a large number
   of recipes to alt.fan.pratchett and thought it was a good
   idea to collect them in one place. So they did. Tap
   (tap@lspace.org) and Hamster (hamster@lspace.org) created
   an archive which could be accessed by email or with a web
   browser, and they collected all the recipes from afp and
   added them as they were posted.

   Then they got lives.

   So now I (ailbhe@lspace.org) maintain the AFP Recipe
   Archive. It may become completely automated at some point
   in the future, at which point I will be able to get a
   life, too.


2) Using the AFP Recipe Archive

  On the WWW:
  ===========

   Go to <http://recipes.lspace.org/> and browse through the
   list of recipes at your leisure.

  Email:
  ======

   To request the index of all recipes, send email to
   <recipes@lspace.org> with the Subject line "send index",
   as shown below:

        To: recipes@lspace.org
        Subject: send index

   To request a specific recipe, send email to
   <recipes@lspace.org> with the index number in the Subject
   line. For example, to request the recipe for Albert's
   Fried Porridge (number 9), you would use:

        To: recipes@lspace.org
        Subject: send 9


3) Adding to the AFP Recipe Archive

   To submit your own recipe, send email to
   <recipes@lspace.org> with the Subject line "submit
   Recipe", as shown below:

        To: recipes@lspace.org
        Subject: submit Granny's Boiled Bootlaces

   The recipe goes in the body of the mail. All submissions
   are manually added to the database by my team of trained
   mon^Wprimates, but spelling errors will be retained for
   authenticity, humour value, and blackmail potential.

  Web:
  ====

   You cannot, yet, submit recipes through a web interface.
   We will investigate this if there is sufficient demand.

   We always appreciate feedback and comments on the recipes
   or on the email interface. Please send email to
   recipe-owner@lspace.org with your comments.
