France builds a fleet in Marseilles and an army in Bordeaux.
Germany builds armies in Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
Italy disbands the fleet in the Tyrrhenian.
Poland disbands the army in Silesia, the army in Estonia, the fleet in the Baltic, the army in Slovakia and the army in Latvia.
Ukraine builds an army in Kharkov.
John(Italy) supplies the following words of wisdom in the light of his (rather daring) blackmail of, well, everybody except Suzi. In my opinion John suffered rather badly from Early Leader Syndrome. His words are:
- Slow down a bit.
- Try to only backstab one person at once.
- Don't try to blackmail half the players in the game at once.
In retrospect, I think I could have done quite well if I hadn't done what I felt I ought to, having read the strategy stuff - move to close down Egypt quickly. Piers (Ukraine) was well-stabbed, and an alliance with Egypt against Piers / Mike / Hippie she promised to bring them into it :-_) ) might have gone better. Egypt would still have been a problem, but a bridge I could have fallen off later in the game. :-)
For what it's worth, I still think I was right: Hippie/Mike/Piers will have a large problem dealing with Egypt and, if she doesn't win, Suzi will definately be around for the end.
Suzi(Egypt) write the following to Mike(France).
Greetings,I see from your last move that you have allowed yourself to be swayed by the Italian! What do you hope to gain from this? If you wish to reconsider your rash move towards my territories, please let me know now.
I am prepared to overlook the fact that you have moved in my direction and that you did not support me as agreed in order to keep the peace between us - but for this to happen we need to "iron out" some ground rules. Both you and I will benefit from staying affiliated and not getting sidetracked into going for each other :
exhibit 1 - Germany has already moved into your borders - you can be fairly sure that now he has almost finished toying with Poland he will be heading your way next!
exhibit 2 - I can hold you off from my present position - but it will mean that neither of us are able to expand to our full potential as we would necessarily have to divert forces which could be used against Germany / Ukraine
